Clear Skin Program for Acne

Acne is often a telltale sign that there is an imbalance within the body. Because your skin is a two-sided organ, oftentimes skincare products alone are not enough to keep your skin clear long-term. After years of studying acne, I’ve set up a holistic acne program to clear your skin by addressing your diet, lifestyle, and skincare regimen. Holistic Facials and Acne Scarring Treatment

Are you ready to unlock your best skin yet? Our holistic facials are designed to nourish and support your skin in ways that injectables like Botox and fillers simply can’t. Each treatment is fully customized to your skin’s unique needs, working to naturally stimulate collagen and elastin for a radiant, healthy glow. These facials are also highly effective in softening acne scars thanks to their collagen-boosting benefits. Some of the advanced modalities I frequently use include:

  • LED light therapy

  • CO2 Carboxy

  • Microneedling with PDRN or growth factors

  • Ultrasound

  • Cryotherapy

  • Microcurrent

  • Fascia manipulation and lymphatic drainage

  • Skin-nourishing face masks, enzymes, and essences

*Services are not taxed and we do not accept tips or gratuities.

mikura’s skincare method

What makes our treatment method different?

At Mikura, we take a gentle, science-backed approach to healthy skin.

During your first visit, we’ll discuss your skin and health history, goals, and current routine before I assess your skin under a magnifying lamp. From there, we create a personalized plan; no harsh peels, lasers, or aggressive treatments.

Our method is rooted in corneotherapy, which protects the outermost skin layer (your skin’s natural barrier). Damaging this layer can lead to inflammation and premature aging. Instead, we focus on treatments that support your skin: gentle enzymes, fascia work, plant-based actives, advanced devices, and customized home care.

The goal? Strong, resilient, balanced skin for the long term.

What is corneotherapy?

“Corneotherapy is a remedial skin treatment methodology with its core principle being the repair and maintenance of the skin barrier defense systems. As the name suggests, Corneotherapy is closely related to Corneobiology, which is the physiological, biologic and biochemical processes of the stratum corneum; the outermost layer of the epidermis.”

It is now widely understood that the outer layer of corneocytes of the stratum corneum is a biologically active cellular tissue. The co-inventor of Retin-A, U.S. dermatologist Dr Albert Kligman, and his partners discovered that the stratum corneum, and the lipid barrier that keeps it intact, play a significant role in skin health; it can send many signals to the underlying living epidermis and influences the regenerative processes in deeper layers of the skin. This understanding of skin health, along with appropriate interventions and topical treatments is an ensemble of therapies that Dr Kligman labeled “Corneotherapy.”

About Naomi

I’m Naomi Kurata, a dedicated holistic esthetician with a passion for helping others achieve clear, healthy skin. My journey into esthetics began with my own battle with severe acne during middle school. Frustrated by the lack of effective solutions from traditional dermatologists, I took matters into my own hands. Determined to heal my skin, I pursued education in holistic skincare, discovering the profound impact that diet and lifestyle have on our skin.

My turning point came during my annual trips to Japan. Each year, my skin would visibly improve during my three-month stays, revealing a crucial connection between my environment and my skin's health. This realization inspired me to become a licensed esthetician in 2017, with a mission to address not just the symptoms, but the root causes of skin issues.

My philosophy is simple yet profound: everything is interconnected. I believe that skin problems are often a reflection of internal imbalances, and that true healing requires a holistic approach. By addressing the underlying factors that contribute to skin concerns, I aim to help my clients not only achieve clearer skin but also regain their confidence and well-being.

At my practice, I am committed to offering personalized care tailored to each individual's unique needs. Whether you're struggling with acne, dryness, or other skin challenges, I am here to guide you on your journey to healthier, more radiant skin. Let’s work together to uncover the root causes and transform your skin into a source of confidence and pride.

Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to helping you achieve your skincare goals!

The Meaning of Mikura

The last two letters of my first name, and the first four of my last, Mikura also has meaning in Japanese. “Mi” means real, truth, or beauty, and “kura” means cellar.
